Prestige

Prestige points are designed to be tangible in-game rewards for out of game contributions. Generally, contributing a character background or portait, writing a character journal entry, or adding something constructive to the website will result in at least one prestige point (occassionally 2 for exceptional work). There are two ways to use prestige points. The first is on a per session basis. Smaller rewards that the points can be spent on for a one-time bonus, and at the end of the game session, the points are returned. The second way is to permanently burn the points for a greater, sometime permanent effect. Points spent during a session can still be burned. For example, Krothan has 9 prestige points. There is a difficult battle coming up, so he decides to spend 2 points to win the initiative and another 6 points to gain an extra attack in the first round. He also decides that he might as well increase his strength from 15-16, burning 6 points. This leaves Krothan with 1 point left to spend during the session, and when the session is over, his pool will recharge back to 3 points, unless he decides to burn any further points.
